How do you maintain and clean concrete counter-tops?

Being a natural material, concrete is porous. That being said, it is truly simple to take care of and clean. You want to make sure you are not leaving any trapped moisture for long periods of time, for example, water trapped under a soap dish or a sweating glass, as this can erode away at the sealer. You would not want to set a burning hot pan straight onto the counter-top, always use pot holders and such under them. And use a cutting board versus cutting straight on the counter-top.

To clean concrete counter-tops and vanities, simply wash with soap and water and let dry. If you have something stuck on, let some soapy water sit on it for a bit, then wipe away. You do not want to use abrasive or acidic cleaners, solvents or scratchy Brillo type sponges as these affect the sealer.

Even bacon grease is easy to clean up. Mmmm...bacon.
